IP Ratings in Marine Solar Systems
IP Ratings Overview
IP ratings are defined in the IEC 60529 standard. An example is IP45, where IP stands for international protection. The first digit refers to dust protection level, while the second digit indicates water protection level.
Dust Protection Scale: The first digit ranges from 0 to 6, where 0 represents no dust protection and 6 means full dust protection.
Water Protection Scale: The second digit ranges from 0 to 9k, where 0 is no water protection and 9k represents protection from steam jet cleaning.
LUX Solar provides the highest level of water protection possible for each application. Individual products display their specific IP ratings.
